Steve and Moira Durkin, who have worked in the care home industry for 25 years, have now acquired a further Purpose Built Care Home and are now partners with their three children and spouses, whom are directors of the new care home.
Abbeycliffe Care Home was officially opened by the Mayor of Bury on 12th April 2013.
Experience: QualifiedRegistered Nurse since 2007 with over 2 years’ experience being a Ward Sister at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.13 years’ experience being in the Care Profession.
Experience:Nursing for Bolton Health Authority at Newlands Nursing Home for 7 years, 25 years’ experience in the Caring Profession.
We specialise in providing high quality residential care and constantly re-invest to ensure all our homes provide uncompromising comfort and excellence in care.
The new home will be a great addition to the group providing high quality facilities whilst at the same time ensuring that we retain the values and ethos on which our reputation has been built.
Abbeycliffe was a former Southern Cross care home in Greater Manchester is being brought back to life with the backing of a £600,000 funding package from Barclays to restore the purpose-built home in Radcliffe, which will provide 40 en-suite bed rooms and creating around 30 new jobs.
Stephen and Moira Durkin are also joint owners with other family members John and Yvonne Durkin of Abbeywood Residential Care Home in Tottington, Bury.
