Abbeycliffe Care Home

Our Services

When it comes to choosing a care home for yourself or a loved one, it is important that you know what level of care is required. Care homes for the elderly may provide personal care or nursing care. Abbeycliffe is a registered care home that provides personal care only. However, to ensure that you or your loved one are suitable for our home and our services, we like to make one-to-one home visits to assess the individual prior to their welcomed stay with us.

Abbeycliffe provides two types of personal care packages, residential care and respite care.

Residential Care

Abbeycliffe have a team of fully trained staff to provide an excellent standard of care for the elderly 24 hours a day. Residential care at Abbeycliffe will be their permanent home and our team will do their upmost to ensure that all our residents feel safe and confident. As part of our residential care package, we assist with daily living activities such as, dressing, bathing, laundry, toileting, medication and providing nutritional meals.

We always do our best to accommodate other social activities and interests, such as, gardening, baking, outings, etc. and we note these within their individual care plans. Personalised care plans consider not only medical, personal care and dietary needs, but also the individual’s likes and dislikes, religious preferences and suggestions from family members that might make their stay with us that little bit more enjoyable.

Relatives will feel comfort in choosing Abbeycliffe as the care home for their loved one, knowing that the caring and trusted team are always on hand to provide them with the care and attention desired by all and that they feel happy and content within their new home-from-home. This, in turn, will give relatives the peace of mind that they need, at what is often a very difficult time in their lives. Fiona, Hayley and the team are on hand to ensure that your loved one will be as well cared for as he or she would be at home with you.

Respite Care

Even though many families take great joy in providing care to their loved ones, the physical, emotional and financial consequences for the family caregiver can be overwhelming without having some support such as respite. Our respite program provides short-term breaks for families and other unpaid caregivers of elderly people, allowing them to take a much-deserved holiday without having to be worried about the care of a loved one.

Respite also provides a positive experience for the person receiving care, they will have the chance to make new friends, join in on our excursions and take part in all of our entertainment activities.

Respite care can be planned for just one night’s stay or for as long as a few weeks. It can take place as regularly or intermittently as you need it, however, this is subject to availability and will need to be organised in advance.
